Presentation on Tuesday 5th – you will have 10 minutes to present. Rehearse and be confident. Practice makes perfect.

After the review, not much rest and start working on your exhibition!
We will need to discuss, but at least if we want to show a compilation projection on our site model, start collecting everyone’s materials. Unfortunately there’s not much budget in the show making, we should discuss this as well.

Good luck everyone, looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

Message from James – a reminder since you must have already received this.

Hi all,
The end of year exhibition is fast approaching, and we are planning a number of different outlets to show off the work completed over the space of the year in iSD. I realise that you are all busy with your projects, but now is a good time to look at the bigger picture, and think about putting your work out into the wider world. We are currently working with exceptionally talented Web and Graphic Designers who are going to produce some work for us that will show your work in its best possible light! In order to do this they need your help, and your work!
We are looking for your very best work that you have produced this year.
You will need to be very selective about what you show, and how it is presented.
If in doubt, please talk to your tutors about what you plan to present.

●10 IMAGES ON A C.D.
●The format is as per all digital submissions this year.
●If you do not submit your work in the correct manner, it will not be regarded as a submission.

Your individual feedback forms with indicative grade range will be ready next Tuesday. If we issue them to you during the tutorial, it will be sensible to see you individually, rather than random group tutorials. If this is the case, you will have to wait outside the studio for your turn.

You will also need to fill in PPD forms on the day and give them back to me, so please take some time to fill in while waiting for tutorials.

The portfolio review is on 23rd, when all of your portfolios need to be submitted by 10:00 am. For this purpose, I will expect your work to be in a good portfolio format – if not final.
However, I expect to see only NEW works on the totorial day!

Tutorials will start from 10:30, not 10:00. See you all then.

These were previously meant to happen last Tuesday 13th, we will let you know the new dates as soon as possible. Possibly will do it on next tutorial.

With portfolio submission date Friday 23rd approaching, I will expect you to show us works in portfolio format as much as possible on next tutorial.

Dead line was Thursday 15th.
Have you done that? If you haven’t, do it! It’s for yourself.

For the digital submission which is due 15th Thursday, you should include all your work to date. Please be sure to keep the format as described below.

Image specs and file-naming logic for digital submission

IMAGE SPECS:
Images MUST be submitted in the following format:
Size: 1600 pixels x 1200 pixels
Resolution: 300 dpi
File Type : JPEG [all files MUST read: filename.jpg]
File Naming: Year_Stage_Project_Surname_Firstname_Description

FILENAMES:
The file naming is very important to allow us to collect a database of work for publication at the end of the year. It also allows us to add images to the database as we progress without getting things out of sequence. If the file is not named at source, we will have trouble crediting the work at the end of the year, so please take a little time to follow this simple system.

File Naming: Year_Stage_Project_Surname_Firstname_Description
Its logic works as follows:

Year_ Year of june portfolio submission, e.g:
2007 = 07
Stage_ The Stage you are in when the work is completed, e.g:
Stage 1 = S1
Stage 2 = S2
Stage 3 = S3
Project_ Induction project = Ind
Project 1A = P1A
Project 1B = P1B
Project 2A = P2A
Project 2B = P2B
Project 3A = P3A
Project 3B = P3B

Surname_ Student Surname [note capitalisation]
If you have a number of names in your surname, Type them as all one word, and Capitalise the start of the names eg:
Kwong Hung = KwongHung

Firstname_ Student Firstname [note capitalisation]
If you have multiple first names see above.

Description Keep this short [ max 8 characters ]

Filename Example:

07_S1_P1A_ KwongHung _Robin_Model01.jpg
