Hi all,
The end of year exhibition is fast approaching, and we are planning a number of different outlets to show off the work completed over the space of the year in iSD. I realise that you are all busy with your projects, but now is a good time to look at the bigger picture, and think about putting your work out into the wider world. We are currently working with exceptionally talented Web and Graphic Designers who are going to produce some work for us that will show your work in its best possible light! In order to do this they need your help, and your work!
We are looking for your very best work that you have produced this year.
You will need to be very selective about what you show, and how it is presented.
If in doubt, please talk to your tutors about what you plan to present.

●10 IMAGES ON A C.D.
●The format is as per all digital submissions this year.
●If you do not submit your work in the correct manner, it will not be regarded as a submission.

Dear all,

Dear all,

Both Matthew and I were pleased to see your works today at the crit.
Keep your momentum going, set your target date every week to achieve staged goals. It is really critical to manage your time effectively.
Also don’t forget to eat well and have some proper rest!

However, it was appalling that we couldn’t start till 11:30 this morning. It’s embarrassing having to repeat myself – if we say 10 am start, we start at 10 am with all of you.

We will have tutorials for the next several weeks.
Note it will be Monday 23rd next time as we informed you.
Here’s the running order. For those who are not on the list and still want to see Matthew, come at the open slot at the end of the day. If you can’t be bothered, we won’t be bothered either.

10:30 Justin / 11:00 Adelia / 11:30 Dora / 12:00 Ruby / 12:30 Inga
14:00 Ellen / 14:30 Elaine / 15:00 So Ra / 15:30 Miguel

Dear all,

For those who presented in the final super-crit of the term, hopefully you have clear ideas about how you could develop further and finalise your design during the Easter Break.

For those who didn’t show up, you missed a vital opportunity. Whatever the excuse, you should have presented your work even though you felt you needed more time before showing it – that’s precisely why you need feedbacks. Don’t ever do this again.

Also for those who showed up late, crit is for everyone’s all-day participation – I feel ashamed to have to mention this to you, the third years. You would learn from other students as much as from your own feedbacks.

The course is for you to learn. I am very disappointed with the lack of committment of many of you. For those who are reluctant to learn, we tutors are obviously reluctant to teach.

There’s little time left. It is your responsibility to time-manage the rest of the year. See Matthew’s previous post re:how to organise your work, and try to keep steady progress.
If you desperately need tutorials, contact us.

Good luck everyone, bear always in mind Easter break is not holiday.

It was good to see everyone’s work pinned up on the wall at the external examiner’s review. It should have been a stimulus day for all of you having seen the whole range of works of 4 platforms. It should also have made the platform’s objectives and standing point clearer in your mind.

At this crucial half point of the year, also with the next super-crit in 2 weeks, the next things you all need to aim as discussed are

PROGRAMME/SCHEDULE OF YOUR PROJECT
Make a ‘to-do list’ first, then time-scale them into your schedule of work till the end of the year, leaving 3 weeks at the end free of tasks.

ONLY NEW WORK AT TUTORIALS
Do not repeat yourself or make us repeat ourselves over the same work you produced weeks ago.

DEVELOP YOUR PROPOSAL
You should all have developed/explored your proposals by super-crit in terms of spatial/material/contextual quality, by the best mediums relevant to your proposal, but should include plans, sections and perspectives(ex and internal) engaged with your site. Be inventive in your communication to best describe your proposal – video, animation, story board, painting, models etc etc, whatever the forms are.

Should you wish to see us before next Tuesday’s tutorial, don’t hesitate to contact us. We will make ourselves available as much as possible. Matthew can see you in Kilburn, I can see you near Tottenham Court Rd/Goodge Street/Covent Garden. I can do it Wed, Fri (after 6pm) and the weekend (time to be confirmed).

These were previously meant to happen last Tuesday 13th, we will let you know the new dates as soon as possible. Possibly will do it on next tutorial.

With portfolio submission date Friday 23rd approaching, I will expect you to show us works in portfolio format as much as possible on next tutorial.

Following is the planned schedule for the rest of this term.
May of them are critical dates as iSD course that you cannot miss, so make a good note of them.
